The SEARCH Foundation is taking place in conjunction with the annual ISES EventWorld conference in Baltimore in August. I don’t know if you are familiar with SEARCH but it is an organization that was established a few years ago by special event professionals to aid fellow industry colleagues who have been affected by tragedy and help them get back on their feet.  For example, if a member of the industry becomes sick with cancer and cannot afford their bills or if their business was destroyed by natural disaster such as Hurricane Katrina, they can apply for funds through SEARCH to help them re-build their business.  The event that we are planning in August is their biggest fundraising source for the year so participation in this event is key in determining the number of people SEARCH can help each year.  The event will feature several different elements such as extensive décor and A/V, a silent and live auction and food stations provided by multiple caterer s so this would be a great learning opportunity for them.
 
We are looking for about 10 volunteers to assist with registration, event set-up/tear down, etc. The event will take place at the American Visionary Arts Museum in Baltimore (near Federal Hill) on Friday, August 6th from 8pm-11pm.  I expect that we will need volunteers starting at around 5pm through midnight.  I have attached a flier promoting the event and additional information can be found at http://www.searchfoundation.org/augustevent.htm.
